You always hear about the sons of Helaman, those valiant young soldiers who followed every command with exactness and believed without doubt that God would protect them, because their mothers "knew it." But if you are a woman in the church, you are probably wondering if Helaman had any daughters--you know--warrior princesses, that you could look up to and emulate. Did Helaman have a wife? How did she feel about her husband's long deployments and dangerous job? There is a glaring gap in the history of the scriptures. We woman know what it is. It is the story of the women of God. What did they think? How did they follow the Lord, and receive revelation? What were their visions? We get only a few glimpses into the female mind in the standard works: Eve, Mary, Ruth, Esther, Rebekah. These are some women we know a little about, but we are woman, the endlessly curious gender. We want to know more. We want to have heroines to follow. We want to know how they lived, what they thought, how they found their way, and we want to know what we can do to be women of true valor, compassion, and courage today.
So this is the place that I will express my views, and you can share yours too, if you wish. Maybe we can learn together about things that matter to woman of faith--warrior princesses--in this battle we call life.
